Exclusive: Is Orry On Bigg Boss? Here Are All The Details…

Harper’s Bazaar Arabia (HBA): How did you decide to go on Big Boss? What was the process?

Orry: So one thing you need to know about me is I don’t believe in TV and television. So, while I knew Bigg Boss was a reality show, I didn’t know much about it. I didn’t know what would happen or, you know, if it was a game show, a Kardashian-type show. I didn’t know much. I just knew that it was a Salman Khan show. So, up until I actually joined the show, I always thought Salman Khan was Bigg Boss like the Bigg Boss. And so someone asked me like, you know, you’re a cool guy, you’re kind of popular, you have a good following, why don’t you want to go to the Bigg Boss house? So I thought maybe I’d met the cut to go to Salman Khan’s house. I was like, of course, I’m gonna go to Salman Khan’s house. And it was only then when my bubble popped, and I was like, lies that I was invited to the big boss house and that’s a different house and the big boss is this voice in a microphone that, you know, it’s like an entity. It’s not a real person. But by then, I was so excited and enthusiastic about it, so I was like, why not just go?

HBA: How was your experience on the show?

Orry: My experience in the Bigg Boss house was like out of a storybook. Like I was telling everyone yesterday, I felt like I was in The Great Gatsby, or I felt like I was actually in Alice in Wonderland. You know, when Alice falls through the rabbit borough and into this surreal world, that’s how I felt when they blindfold you and take you into this tunnel, and you enter into the big boss house; I felt like I entered into this wonderland of, you know what the date doesn’t matter, the time doesn’t matter. You don’t know what time of day it is, other than like, what you can see from the sun.

You know, I entered the house at 1 am. But the rest of the house thought it was only 11 pm. You don’t know what’s happening. You know, you don’t know the news. You don’t know how your family is. And even if you want to know, you can’t, like, you know, imagine a world where you get detached and you forget the outside world exists. So even though they know that they’re miked, and they know that you’re being videotaped, you forget because eventually you get numb to it. You get numb to the fact that the outside world exists because you’re not hearing what you say. Like basically, what people say can’t affect you and won’t affect you because you have no idea ignorance is bliss. You’re living and fighting and just like, you know, like being your true self in those moments, and it just felt like it was out of a fantasy storybook.

HBA: Are you a wild card entry or just a guest on the show?

Orry: I was neither a wildcard entry or a guest on the show; I was a celebrity prank card, you know, where they dropped in a person who’d never actually be on Bigg Boss or couldn’t because there’s so much going on in my life, but I entered just to add masala for the weekends and all the audience. Only the team of Bigg Boss knew that and Colours.

HBA: Who is your favourite person in the house?

Orry: Hands down. I have to say it was Ankita Lokhande. And she was my first hug when I entered through the tunnel. I was nervous and anxious. I didn’t know what was happening and what was going on. I entered, and you know she was like Orry, and, she jumped on me, and it was that confidence of her knowing who I was and not pretending not to know that also impressed me because a lot of people you know when they meet you, they like to pretend they don’t know who you are. And she gave me such a warm welcome, and her husband did as well because of her, and then everybody followed suit, you know, and that kind of just set my opening and welcoming into the house. She was my first hug when I entered and my last when I exited. You know my saving grace and had my back and gave me unbiased advice and overall, really cool girl.

HBA: If you could take one of your friends on the show with you who would it be and why?

Orry: I would take none of my friends on the show with me. I’m greedy for this experience, and I want it for myself. If I had a friend, I would have just stuck to my friend on the show, and it would have been about me and my friend. This experience is meant to be lived solo. The game is about connecting with people you don’t know. It’s about pushing yourself.

HBA: What’s your dream show to be apart of?

Orry: My dream would be Koffee With Karan.

HBA: Do you really have 5 managers? The clip of you with Salman Khan went viral

Orry: Yes, it is a fact I do have five managers. I have my one overall brand manager who looks at everything, almost a senior manager. I’m not in touch with him on a day-to-day basis on this, but I need to be. He also has a lot of other stuff that he does besides managing me, but he’s my overall total brand manager. Suppose there’s a big moment or something big that won’t go ahead without me checking with him.

Then, I have my PR manager. I will call her for the small things, and she will be part of the big things. I have two social media managers who manage my social media, one girl who will come with me everywhere and make sure everything’s done correctly and have my back. Then the other one who, just you know, does the overall social media surfing and checking in swimming and scanning and telling me what’s working, not working, what to post when to post, we’ll handle my mobile when I’m not there because he’s the only person I trust.

And lastly, I have a food manager who will control my diet. So she’s not sitting in making a diet. She’s just making sure that I don’t go over, you know, a couple 100 calories a day. She’ll go if I have to go for a brand event, she will call the place in advance and make sure that I have a specific menu. Once, I was going to a brand, you know, on the menu said risotto. It was an edamame risotto. So she had the chef take out all the edamame made from the risotto and only serve me the edamame. So, while everyone else was eating this yummy risotto, I had five pieces of edamame. So yeah, those are my five managers.

HBA: Are there any future appearances projects you will be doing that you can share a sneak peek of?

Orry: I do have a future appearance on a TV show. I can’t say which show because it is under embargo. But it is going to be very cool, so keep an eye out for it.
