Poorna Jagannathan is an accomplished actor known for her versatile performances in film, television, and theater. Born on December 22, 1972, she is of Indian descent and grew up in Pakistan, Ireland, and Argentina before eventually settling in the United States.
The star gained widespread recognition for her role as Safar Khan in the critically acclaimed HBO miniseries “The Night Of” in 2016. And before her breakout role, Poorna had already made a name for herself in the theater world. She co-founded the theater company “Natak,” which focuses on promoting South Asian voices and stories.
In addition to her work in television and theater, Jagannathan has appeared in a number of films, including the Bollywood hit “Delhi Belly” and the independent film “Miles.” However, recently, Poorna has been making rounds for her appearance in Netflix hit series Never Have I Ever. Her role as Nalini Vishwakumar has already become a fan-favourite since the show’s release last week.
She has become a beacon of inspiration for many as she uses her platform to advocate against injustice and for a more equal world. Poorna also challenges the usual norms and promotes inclusivity, dedicating her voice and influence to make positive change.
