Preparing to set the stage on fire again since making her much-awaited comeback is Barbadian crooner Rihanna who will be performing her hit single Lift Me Up at the 2023 Oscars, as per an announcement by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
While RiRi fans are still reeling from her record-breaking Super Bowl halftime performance as well as her second pregnancy announcement with partner A$AP Rocky, the nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer is not ready to stop anytime soon.
Nominated for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards, the soulful ode to late Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman was penned by director Ryan Coogler and musician Tems for the 2022 sequel to the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Lift Me Up saw great commercial success since its release in October 2022 and debuted at number 2 on US Billboard Hot 100 charts. The emotional number was also nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award and a Golden Globe, more recently bagging the Outstanding Music Video Award at the NAACP Image Awards.
Rihanna‘s R&B ballad will be one of the many electrifying performances to blow away audiences at The Oscars which will air live on Sunday, March 12. Producers will announce other musical acts soon.
