The Golden Globes 2023 took place on January 10, 2023, and celebrated various actors and creatives’ incredible work over the year. One that stood out, in particular, was the Indian film RRR, which made history and took home the title of Best Original Song for its dance number Naatu Naatu.
Starring Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan, and others, the film was hugely successful after its release but has reached new heights with this prestigious title, being the first ever Asian melody ever to win a Golden Globe.

Nominated alongside Lift Me Up by Rihanna for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Carolina by Taylor Swift for Where The Crawdads Sing, Hold My Hand by Lady Gaga for Top Gun: Maverick, and Ciao Papa from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Naatu Naatu took the world by storm as TikTok users performed their spirited renditions of it.
Winning one of the two Golden Globes it was nominated for, the Telugu-language film is also Oscar-shortlisted for its catchy musical number.
