Congratulations are in order for Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost who welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, yesterday. The American actor and comedian announced the happy news in a statement on Instagram.
“Ok ok, we had a baby. His name is Cosmo. We love him very much. Privacy would be greatly appreciated,” he briefly reveals. He also went on to provide the Instagram username of their publicist for any further questions.
The birth of the baby came as a shock to many people since news of the pregnancy was only confirmed days earlier after Colin reportedly mentioned it at a stand-up show in Connecticut. This is the first child for Colin.
According to some sources, the name Cosmo can be of British, Italian or Greek origins and means order, decency, and beauty.
The Hollywood actress and Saturday Night Live star quietly married in an intimate ceremony during the COVID-19 pandemic in October 2020. The couple were engaged in May 2019 after two years of dating.
Meals on Wheels announced the news of their wedding on its Instagram account on October 29, 2020. The couple wanted to support the non-profit organisation by receiving wedding gifts in the form of donations.
“We’re thrilled to break the news that Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married over the weekend in an intimate ceremony with their immediate family and loved ones, following COVID-19 safety precautions as directed by the CDC,” the caption states.
“Their wedding wish is to help make a difference for vulnerable older adults during this difficult time by supporting @mealsonwheelsamerica. Please consider donating to celebrate the happy couple by clicking the link in our bio.”
Scarlett and Colin met for the first time on the set of Saturday Night Live in 2006 when she was hosting the show.
This is Scarlett’s second child as she also has a six-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy from her previous relationship with French journalist Romain Dauriac.
