Saudi model and social media influencer Model Roz is best known for her colourful Instagram feed filled with photos of her celebrity friends, endless style inspiration and, of course, her signature pink statement looks. Hailing from Al Jubail, the twenty-eight-year-old blonde is one of the first KSA-born models to work for mainstream fashion brands, like Victoria Secret’s PINK and Guess, and while she’s known as “Model Roz” or “Roz” to her fans, this isn’t actually her real name.
Like so many other young hopefuls who move from their hometowns to Los Angeles, trying to make it within their own respective creative industries and establish a new identity of their own, Model Roz adopted a new nickname early on – and her real name is actually Rawan Abdullah Abu Zaid. The name comes from the Arabic term “rawi” meaning “to feed with water,” and is in fact a popular female name in the Arab world.
According to Arab News, Model Roz originally moved to the United States to pursue a degree in interior design, however, prioritised her dreams of becoming a model instead. The social media sensation perfectly embodies the image of a strong and resilient Arab woman making quite the name for herself by working with a wide range of well-known brands.
She currently boasts a cool 12.7 million followers on Instagram, making her one of the most popular Saudi models on the platform.
