The artist and fashion designer will be exhibiting her vibrant knitwear pieces that are a part of the Ella Emhoff Likes To Knit brand at a pop-up presentation on February 11, Day 2 of NYFW 2023. Thrust into the limelight when her stepmother Kamala Harris was sworn in as the Vice President of the United States, Ella Emhoff is undoubtedly a name to remember.

Who is Ella Emhoff?
The Second Daughter is a Parsons School of Design Alum
The 23-year-old is a graduate of Parsons School of Design, New York, where she did her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, according to her LinkedIn. At the design school, Ella worked on her creative skills in ceramics, graphic design, crocheting, and knitting, and focused on crafting unique textiles from scrap materials.
She is a Model
After turning heads in a gem-studded, tweed Miu Miu coat and a burgundy moiré Batsheva dress at the 59th U.S. Presidential Inauguration in Washington, D.C. in 2021, Ella was dubbed a “style icon” on social media.
She then went on to get signed by IMG Models Worldwide and joined the A-list catalogue of fresh faces represented by the prestigious agency. The quirky personality made her runway debut at NYFW the same year where she made her mark as she is set to appear this year as a designer.

The Sustainable Designer Launched a Knitwear Line
After launching a limited edition collection of knitted pieces with Batsheva in 2021 that sold out in minutes, according to the New York Times, Ella dropped her first solo line on her website last year. The eclectic launch consisted of a series of vests, jumpers, trousers, hats, and other items that quickly sold out.
She Was Named ‘Icon of the Year’ by Harper’s Bazaar US
