Sonakshi Sinha was raised in Patna, Bihar, India. She is the daughter of actors and politicians Shatrughan Sinha, and Poonam Sinha. Sonakshi studied at the Arya Vidya Mandir and completed her graduated in fashion designing from Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey University.
Sonakshi has had a hugely successful acting career.
After working as a costume designer in independent films, Sonakshi made her acting debut with the action film Dabangg (2010). Sonakshi has since continually pushed the boundaries of her acting. From the action-packed Rowdy Rathore to the emotional Lootera, her career trajectory truly shows her willingness to delve into complicated roles.
