Imagine Dragons’ lead singer Dan Reynolds is getting divorced from his wife Aja Volkman, lead singer of the indie rock band Nico Vega, who according to Us Weekly, filed for dissolution of marriage on Tuesday, April 18.
The alternative rock musician, who shares four children with Aja, previously confirmed his announcement of divorce in 2018. However, the couple stayed together for four more years after the release of Imagine Dragons’ song Bad Liar which Aja helped write.
The final nail in the coffin was in September 2022 when the musician pair announced yet again that they are separated, leading to Aja’s filing of the court documents this past week as reported by Billboard.

Amidst all this are the rumours of a new romance in Dan’s life — American actor Minka Kelly — who he was first spotted with in November 2022 according to Entertainment Tonight.
A source told ET Online, “Dan is new to dating, still getting used to being single, and dealing with the aftermath of his split from Aja Volkman.” They continued, “His main concern is taking care of his kids and being a good dad.”
Since the news broke, Aja has taken to Instagram to disclose how she’s dealing with the aftermath of the divorce in the public eye.
In the statement, Aja complimented the four children she shares with Dan and said, “Navigating being in a public space while going through all of the things we have been through this year has been hard for both Dan and I.”
The I’m On Fire singer continued, “I’ve never spoken about the details of our marriage or separation or divorce. I don’t intend to,” while asking the public to not “create a witch-hunt out of the unknown.”
“Yesterday marked a pretty big transition in our lives,” Aja concluded.
Neither party has disclosed the exact reason for the end of the twelve-year marriage between Dan and Aja.
