A Madonna Biopic With 50 Shades Of Grey Vibes Is In The Works
And she’s not happy about it…
Her struggle to break into the recording business, find her feet in Hollywood and juggle relationships has been well documented throughout her musical career so it comes as no surprise that Madonna’s early years are set to be the focus of a biopic on the singer. Titled Blond Ambition, the film will be produced by Michael De Luca of 50 Shades of Grey and written by relative Hollywood newcomer Elyse Hollander, a female screenwriter who’s script for the biopic secured Universal Studio’s involvement in the project.
Set in the 1980s the story follows the American singer’s production of her 1983 eponymous debut album as well as her personal love life. Unhappy at her lack of involvement in the project (she reportedly wasn’t consulted at all on the film) Madonna vented her feelings via Instagram writing: “Nobody knows what I know and what I have seen. Only I can tell my story. Anyone else who tries is a charlatan and a fool. Looking for instant gratification without doing the work. This is a disease in our society.”
Aside from Madonna’s annoyance the studio will also have to deal with a potential musical rights issue. 1983’s Madonna was released under Sire Records, owned at the time by Warner Bros. who own the licensing for every song on the album and are a a direct competitor of the film’s studio, Universal.
With casting yet to be confirmed as well let’s just hope it fares better with critics than 50 Shades…

3. Georgia May Jagger
Even if she can’t act the iconic gap-tooth smile alone has got to put her in the running

5. Lourdes Leon
Her mum may not be happy with the biopic by Lourdes would be the ideal option to step into Madonna’s shoes
