Former BAZAAR cover star Bella Hadid issued a public apology in both English and Arabic on her social media channels last night after being accused of racism.
The model posted a photo on social media, which subsequently saw the hashtag #BellaHadidIsRacist go viral. The Palestinian-Dutch-American faced backlash after posting an Instagram Story on Sunday of the sole of her foot facing a Saudi plane and a UAE plane, along with along with the caption “anotha one.”
Hadid shared an apology on Instagram and Twitter assuring her 26 million fans it had “nothing to do with politics” and that it was “an honest mistake.”

The 22-year-old wrote, “I would never want my posts or platform to be used for hate against anyone, especially those of my own beautiful & powerful heritage.”
She continued “I love and care so much about the Muslim and Arab side of my family as well as my brothers and sisters throughout the world.”
Bella added, “I want to send a sincere apology to those who ever thought I would put blame on them, especially to Saudi Arabia and the UAE… This was never the case, and I hope you can understand the misunderstanding.”
Fans took to social media express their anger and explained why they believed it was a sign of disrespect to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Some directed their outrage towards brands that work with Bella Hadid from Dior, Calvin Klein to Versace.
Since Bella Hadid represents Dior I will now stop buying Dior products due to her disrespect to Saudi Arabia
