Blake Lively Discusses Gossip Girl Reboot

“Never say never”

Just when you thought the Upper East Side’s most fashionable teenagers lived happily ever after, whispers of a Gossip Girl sequel have surfaced and one of the show’s break out stars, Blake Lively aka Serena van der Woodsen has already signaled she would be on board.

When asked in an interview with Variety about a reboot of the series, the mother-of-two replied: “I don’t know. Why not? It sort of all depends. Would I do seven years of the show? No, because it’s hard work and I’ve got my babies, and I don’t want to be away from them that much. But I’ve just learnt in life you never say never.”

“I’m looking to do something that I haven’t done yet, not something that I did. But would I do that? Who knows — if it was good, if it made sense. We had so much fun shooting and living and working in New York City,” she added.

Originally set to be filmed in Toronto, subsequently where hubby Ryan Reynolds shot Deadpool, producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage fought for the series to relocate to New York, one of the main factors in its seven-season success says Lively; “If we had been in Toronto, I don’t know if we would have made it past our first episode,” she admitted. “We were always in the coolest new spots. It was almost like a city guide as well as a fun show to watch.”

No word yet on whether the rest of the cast would also sign on but even with just a Serena spin-off we’re sure they would have a hit.
