Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Mourn The Loss Of Their Baby
The model shared the heartbreaking news with her followers on Instagram this morning
Much to their fans’ delight, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend announced their pregnancy back in early September. The couple were overjoyed to have a new addition to the family, however, throughout the pregnancy the model was transparent about the fact there were complications.
Yesterday evening Chrissy shared an update on Instagram that she and the baby were fine, but that she required a blood transfusion, which included a snap from her at last year’s New Year’s Eve Party, reassuring the world there was nothing to be concerned about.
“Hello from hospital,” she wrote in the caption. “About to have my second blood transfusion which truly truly truly sounds more dramatic than it is. It’s an IV, but instead of fluids, the blood of some kind human being out there. Baby and I are completely fine…”
Unfortunately, things must have taken a turn for the worst in the hours after the post was shared; early this morning, the model and her husband announced the loss of their third child, along with the pain and grief the family is going through during this difficult time.
“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough,” Chrissy wrote, sharing some insight into the cause of the miscarriage.
Chrissy revealed the couple had plans to call their son Jack, although they have yet to reveal the official reason why they baby was lost.
“We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.” Chrissy said in her post.
The comments section of the post has been flooded with messages of condolences, love and support for the grieving family from friends and fans alike.
Chrissy ended the post with this: “We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”
