Dubai’s Lockdown Will Continue For At Least Another Week
The 24-hour National Disinfection Programme is still in full effect, as residents of the emirate will continue to apply for permits when leaving their homes
Dubai residents won’t be able to leave their homes without a permit for at least another seven days, as the 24-hour National Disinfection Programme continues.
The programme had been executed last month on April 4th, where residents were ask to comply with a curfew from 8 p.m to 6 a.m daily, later extending to 24-hours a day, during which Dubai authorities have sanitized the metro, taxis, buses, trams as well as roads throughout Dubai neighborhoods.
“The Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai announces the extension of the 24-hour National Sterilization Programme for a further week, in light of the success achieved by the initiative initially launched on April 4th, in controlling the spread of COVID-19 in Dubai”, the DMO statement said.
Stringent measures on issuing a permit before leaving their house have also been ordered, where one will be allowed to issue a permit only once in three days, in order to practice social distancing. The permit options are strictly for work, emergencies, grocery shopping or pharmacies, and for ATM visits.
