Dubai To Reopen Gyms, Cinemas and Businesses From This Wednesday Onwards
The gradual reopening of business activities will resume from 6:00 to 23:00, beginning on May 27
For those of us who have been going a little stir-crazy this long weekend, we have exciting news for you.
Dubai is expected to reopen gyms, cinemas and other businesses from this Wednesday onwards in its latest move to ease the city’s COVID-19 related restrictions.
According to Arabian Business the city will resume the gradual reopening of business activities on Wednesday, May 27 from 6:00 to 23:00. This means individuals will be able to move freely throughout the daytime and early hours of the evening, but the National Sterilisation Programme will still be in effect from 23:00 to 6:00.
“This includes the reopening of cinemas and movie theaters, gyms and fitness centers, education and training centers, entertainment facilities like ice rinks and dolphinariums, all of which have been closed since the end of March. Children under the years of 12 years old will still not be allowed to enter the facilities,” Arabian Business reports.
Wearing face masks will still be mandatory in public and individuals will still need to abide by proper social distancing etiquette, which includes keeping a distance of two metres apart from one and other.
This decision to ease restrictions was made announced during a virtual meeting with Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management led by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, according to Time Out Dubai.

The announcement comes after Dubai saw a recent drop in COVID-19 cases for the second day in a row.
