Jamaica’s Toni-Ann Singh Crowned Miss World
Her acceptance post on social media will tug at your heart strings
Hot on the heels of Miss South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi being crowned Miss Universe, Toni-Ann Singh from Jamaica has taken home the title of Miss World 2019.
The grand finale of the annual pageant was held in London last night and saw 23-year-old Florida State University graduate, Toni-Ann, crowned this year’s winner.
“My Jamaica, sweet Jamaica we did it!” Toni-Ann wrote on Instagram. “My heart is filled with love and gratitude. Thank you so much for believing in me. You pushed me to believe in myself. I am not only honored but humbled to be the 69th Miss World. Thank you to my family and to my friends. The love and support you poured into me now allows me to pour into the world.

Miss Jamaica won the Miss World title after a decade-long gap; Lisa Hanna previously took home the title in 1993. Jamaica also won in 1963 and 1976.
