Meghan And Harry Arrive In Morocco For Their Last Royal Tour Before The Baby

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Morocco for a three-day official visit

A few days after celebrating her second baby shower in NYC, a very pregnant Meghan Markle and Harry landed in Morocco for a three-day visit. This will be the couple’s last royal tour before Meghan steps away from her duties in preparation for the arrival of their baby, who is due in late April or early May.

The couple touched down at Casablanca’s Mohammad V International Airport on Saturday night and were greeted by the British Ambassador to Morocco, Thomas Reilly and his wife Alix Reilly. The Duke and Duchess were invited into the airport’s royal suite where they were offered a traditional welcome of milk and dates.

Just some of the nine members of the Royal entourage includes two assistant private secretaries, three communications officers, a digital officer, a programme coordinator and a hairdresser. A source has also said that “medical provisions have been made” for Meghan, in case of emergency.

The Duke and Duchess have arrived in Morocco. Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed by a Guard of Honour to meet Crown Prince Moulay Hassan at a Royal Residence in Rabat. The Duke and Duchess’ visit will highlight the vital roles that girl’s education and youth empowerment are playing in shaping Modern Morocco. #RoyalVisitMorocco.

Royal Commentator Omid Scobie commented that the Duchess of Sussex’s decision to opt for a red Valentino dress was a respectful gesture to represent the North African country’s flag. Scobie shared in a tweet that Meghan chose “the colour red, which has considerable historic significance in Morocco (and represents hardiness, bravery, strength and valour on the national flag).” The Duchess of Sussex accessorised the A-line dress with embroidered cape detailing with a pair of Dior ‘Essence’ pumps and a cream Valentino ‘Vee-Ring’ clutch bag.

The Sussexes are arriving at Casablanca Airport soon. Entourage includes:

Britain’s ambassador to Morocco, Mr Reilly, said: “This official visit by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will highlight Morocco’s focus on women’s empowerment, girls’ education, inclusivity and the encouragement of social entrepreneurship.”

Today, the royal couple will see a girl’s education project in Asni Town in the Atlas Mountains. They will also attend a reception hosted by Britain’s Ambassador to Morocco this evening.

Tomorrow, the Royals will meet young entrepreneurs and visit programmes for disabled children and those with mental health disabilites at the Moroccan Royal Federation of Equestrian Sports. They will then take part in a Moroccan cooking demonstration and hear about youth empowerment in the Andalusian Gardens before returning to the UK.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will soon move into their new home, Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor Estate sometime in March, prior to the birth of their first child.
