This Is What The Duke And Duchess Of Sussex Asked For As Their Baby Shower Gift
Staying true to their selfless style
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle created their own Instagram account just four days ago and have already (but also rather unsurprisingly) climbed to 4.2 million followers already. And this weekend, the British royals took to their official profile to ask fans and followers for a baby shower gift.
The pair posted a heart-warming gallery on the social media platform, expressed their gratitude for the continual support their fans have given them in the run-up to the birth. The post writes, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are immensely grateful for the outpouring of love and support in anticipation of the birth of their first child”.
True to charitable form, the Sussexes urged fans who want to send presents and gifts to instead donate money to people and causes in need. “In lieu of sending gifts, the couple have long planned to encourage members of the public to make donations to select charities for children and parents in need”.
The couple list a number of charities that they are both known for working closely with, including the Lunchbox Fund, who give warm and nutritious meals to children in need; Little Village HQ, who provide impoverished children with clothes to wear; WellChild, who give children living with serious illnesses ways to live more comfortably at home; and lastly, baby2baby, who give the essentials to children in poverty.
This is not the first time the Royal couple has announced a request for those wishing to send them gifts to donate to a charity instead. Prior to their wedding last year, Meghan and Harry asked guests and fans to donate to charities like the Myna Mahalia Foundation for women’s empowerment in favour of physical gifts.
Although there is no word of Meghan’s exact due date, the former suits actress is expected to be giving birth to the couple’s first child any moment now.
