Meghan Markle Pays Tribute To Peter Lindbergh In A Touching Instagram Post

Yesterday, the fashion world suffered an insurmountable loss when it was announced that iconic German-born fashion photographer Peter Linbergh has died at the age of 74.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are joining ‘90s supermodes and members of the fashion community in paying tribute to the renowned creative.

“Honouring the life and work of photographer Peter Lindbergh,” they write on Instagram. “His work is revered globally for capturing the essence of a subject and promoting healthy ideals of beauty, eschewing photoshopping, and preferring natural beauty with minimal makeup,” they write on Instagram.”

The Duchess of Sussex had worked with Peter in the past and personally chose him to shoot the 15 women on the cover for the September issue of British Vogue, which she guest edited. Meghan Markle has work Linbergh several times in the past, most notably on her 2017 cover of Vanity Fair and the September 2019 cover for British Vogue, which she guest-edited. The latter is one of Lindbergh’s final projects.

Some of the photographers most famous works starred ’90s supermodels, from Linda Evangelista to Naomi Campbell to Kate Moss. He also frequently photographed for past issues of Harper’s BAZAAR.
