The Duchess of Sussex didn’t walk the red carpet, nor was she sat in the crowd amongst the guests, so no one was expecting her surprise appearance on stage when Rosamund Pike introduced HRH.

Markle took to the stage to honour Givenchy’s creative director, and the designer of her wedding dress, Clare Waight Keller British Designer of the Year Womenswear.
She wore Givenchy…
Obviously. She accessorized with Pippa Small gold bangles and Tamara Mellon ‘Karat’ sandals.
She called the U.K. her ‘new home’…
“Good evening, everyone. It is such a pleasure to be here, celebrating British fashion and British fashion designers in my new home of the U.K.,” the Duchess says as she steps onto the stage.

The Duchess of Sussex wore an opaque dark nail polish to match her Givenchy dress. It’s widely rumoured that the Queen isn’t a fan of coloured nail polish, believing it’s “vulgar” and that “royal protocol” dictates women only wear nude nail shades. Since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, Meghan has basically followed this rule – until now.
