Saudi Sports Stadiums “Ready To Accommodate Families From Early 2018”
Three stadiums in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam will be open to women next year
Sports stadiums in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam will allow women and children to attend events from next year.
Saudi Arabia’s General Sports Authority said on Twitter that three of the country’s major stadiums will be “ready to accommodate families from early 2018.” This move will mean that the venues, which were previously only accessible to men, will be open to all.
According to reports, preparations include opening restaurants and cafes inside the stadiums.
This comes after authorities opened a stadium in Riyadh to women and children, in order to celebrate Saudi Arabia’s National Day.
The Kingdom has made a number of changes after announcing Vision 2030, which is a “vision for the future” that focuses on economic and social programmes, as set out by Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs.
