Arab Woman Awards were launched in 2009 by ITP Media Group in Dubai, with the aim of celebrating the significant achievements by women of the GCC region and to provide young Arab women with inspirational role models. During the past decade the awards ceremony has highlighted the achievements of over 400 women and has conducted ceremonies across the Gulf region including in the UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak al Nahyan and in partnership with UN Women, this year’s awards will focus on the solutions women from the region have created to combat issues related to the on-going pandemic, while also raising awareness about the novel coronavirus and how it is disproportionately affecting women throughout the Arab States region.
