Sheikh Mohammed Wished Queen Elizabeth A Happy Anniversary
The ruler of Dubai shared a heart-warming message on social media
Yesterday, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, who were married in 1947, celebrated their platinum wedding anniversary and HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum took to social media to wish the British royals congratulations.
The ruler of Dubai shared an image of Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh on Twitter and Instagram – which is wife Princess Haya later reposted – writing: “Our congratulations to the Queen of England Her Majesty Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip on their platinum wedding anniversary.”
The first British monarch ever to celebrate their platinum wedding anniversary, the royals have been pictured together in Windsor Castle in a series of portraits, which were taken to mark their 70th year together.
“To mark the 70th Wedding Anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, new photographic portraits have been released worldwide,” reads the caption on the official Instagram page for the royal family. “The Queen and His Royal Highness will celebrate their Wedding Anniverary on 20th November 2017. The portraits, by British photographer Matt Holyoak of Camera Press, were taken in the White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle in early November. The marriage of Princess Elizabeth to Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten took place at Westminster Abbey on 20th November 1947.”
