Her Majesty reportedly “doesn’t like too much, too early”

From their Lindo Wing debut to a string of Buckingham Palace balcony appearances, the nation has witnessed the royal children grow up under the media spotlight.

But grandmother and great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II reportedly wants them to lead a normal childhood.

Princess Diana’s former bodyguard, Ken Wharfe, revealed: “The Queen doesn’t like too much, too early. Her belief is that they are children and should stay out of the limelight.”

Prince George

Back in 2016, the Duke of Cambridge told the BBC that he and the Duchess of Cambridge try to ensure their children have a normal upbringing – which includes keeping George’s future role a secret.

“There’ll be a time and a place to bring George up and understand how he fits in, in the world,” the father-of-three said. “But right now it’s just a case of keeping a secure, stable environment around him and showing as much love as I can as a father.”

Kate Middleton

The five-year-old started school at Thomas’s Battersea in London last year where he is simply referred to as George Cambridge.

“With George they [the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge] are trying to delay that moment of realisation and give him normality before they thrust this on him,” Catherine Mayer – author of Charles: The Heart of a King recently told E! News.
