This Decadent Private Members Club Will Soon Open In DIFC
Mayfair’s beloved Arts Club is on track to open later this year. BAZAAR shares everything you need to know about the much-awaited launch
In recent months, our main portal for all things arts and culture has depressingly been our own computers. Whilst virtual tours of museums and art galleries are better than no tours at all, our sensory selves are left craving for more – enter The Arts Club.
One of the world’s most exclusive private members’ clubs is thankfully still on track for its late 2020 opening in Dubai. Founded in 1863, the DIFC incarnation will be the first international outpost of the historic club, which counts Charles Dickens as one of its founding members.
Spread over four floors, The Arts Club Dubai will provide its members with a home away from home; hospitality and elegance are at the core of the club.
Bringing with him his years of experience at the Ritz Hotel in London, Operations Manager Pasquale Cosmai seeks to provide guests with the warmth and charisma expected from traditional clubs but with the intuition, emotional intelligence, and attention to detail expected by the modern member.
With three restaurants, eight craft cocktail bars, and numerous private event spaces, there will be plenty of opportunity for members and their guests to experience the impeccable service.
In spite of the many restaurants and bars on offer, for us the most tantalizing draw is the extensive cultural programme. Pulsing life into each member’s experience, the line-up will consist of talks, debates, tastings, exhibitions, studio tours, trips, workshops, cabarets, panel discussions, music and dance.
The Club’s Spokesperson, Sybel Vazquez, exclusively told Bazaar “Collaboration and cultural discourse are at the epicentre of the Cultural Programme. We will be working alongside independent cultural entities, thinkers and artists, as well as world-renowned institutions to create exceptional events for the Club.”
Applications for membership are now being accepted and elections are underway. All applicants will require the support of two existing members to complete their application, known as the proposer and seconder.
They can be new members of The Arts Club Dubai or they can be existing members of the Club in London.
Alternatively, for those without a proposer or a seconder, the membership team will be delighted to meet with them. The Club is looking for individuals who will relish what it has to offer and who will, in turn, contribute to club life.
