The Duchess Of Sussex Returns To Royal Duties In Navy Givenchy Ensemble
The new mother took a break from maternity leave to attend the Queen’s birthday parade
The Duchess of Sussex made her first royal appearance since the birth of her and Prince Harry’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, at 2019 Trooping the Colour parade.
In a similar fashion to last year’s ceremony, Meghan travelled in the procession alongside the Duke of Sussex in one of the royal carriages. An Alexander McQueen-clad Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Cornwall, who wore Bruce Oldfield, sat opposite the new parents.

Demonstrating her royal fashion know-how, the 37-year-old looked to close friend Clare Waight Keller for assistance once again in a navy Givenchy ensemble complete with a caped coat.
Giving us all a lesson in how to achieve one-tone dressing – this season’s most talked about styling trick – matching gloves, a quilted Givenchy purse and Noel Stewart headpiece finished the daytime get-up.

The royal wore a similar ensemble, also by Givenchy, at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding in October 2018. Meanwhile, Prince Harry dressed in his full Blues and Royals uniform. Unlike his brother, the Duke of Cambridge, he does not ride on horseback during the parade.

The Duchess of Sussex‘s decision to attend the event echoes the Duchess of Cambridge who was also at a similar stage in maternity leave when she attended Trooping the Colour last year.
The 2018 parade famously marked the Duchess of Sussex’s first Buckingham Palace appearance and took place just days after the newlyweds’ rumoured honeymoon.
The former actress chose a pink off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera skirt suit for the prestigious event with a co-ordinating Philip Treacy hat to finish – the perfect regal touch.
