Sherine, Fairuz and Nancy Ajram are amongst the top five

In only a matter of a few years, Spotify have crashed the music scene, becoming one of the most popular song streaming websites in the world. With subscriber numbers climbing into the tens of millions, in 2018 the platform boasted 8.2 billion streams, with Drake, Rihanna and Ed Sheeran leading the way globally.

And now, Spotify has released their top five Arab female artists being streamed this year.

Egypt’s prominent singer Sherine, Lebanese star Fairuz, former BAZAAR Arabia cover star Nancy Ajram, Eteqy Rabena Feya singer Amal Maher and Iraqi Aseel Hameem are the most popular names in music on Spotify in the MENA region so far in 2019.

Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Halsey and Dua Lipa are the top five females being streamed on Spotify globally.

If you’re not a Spotify subscriber, you can test the service for free for seven days – which seems like the perfect amount of time to binge listen all five artists!
