The public sector will enjoy a four-day long weekend starting on July 30

According to The National individuals working within the UAE’s public sector will have four days off, with both Thursday, July 30 and Sunday, August 2.

It has yet to be announced whether the private sector will also have the same holiday dates.

Earlier this week Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court announced July 31 will be the first day of Eid Al Adha, following the confirmation of the dates by The Kingdom’s moon sighting committee to mark the beginning of the 12th month of the Islamic calendar.

The court said that July 22 marks the first day of Dhu Al Hijja. Since the first day of Eid Al Adha always falls on the 10th day of Dhu Al Hijja, July 31 will mark the first day of Eid Al Adha.

Dhu Al Hijja marks the start of this year’s Hajj season, which will be limited to only 10,000 pilgrims from within the Kingdom due to the coronavirus pandemic.
