#ChicEats: Indochine, DIFC
Marking its first location outside of New York, the French-Vietnamese restaurant has reopened its doors, while still offering all the must-have signature dishes in a safe (and socially distant) environment
A notable hot spot within New York City’s social scene for more than three decades since opening its doors in 1984 (attracting the likes of legendary designer Valentino, supermodel Cindy Crawford and Andy Warhol, who all frequented the establishment quite often), Indochine took Dubai by storm when it opened its doors earlier this year.
Now with a new generation of A-listers on the scene, it’s no secret that famous restaurant has situated itself perfectly within the city’s culinary scene — complete with its signature tropical décor, iconic ‘Martinique’ wallpaper and delicious dishes.
The menu is unpretentious, approachable and mouth-wateringly delectable, which some would call the perfect marriage between French and Vietnamese cuisine. While Chef Steven Nguyen is careful to pay tribute to tradition, he isn’t shy of pushing culinary boundaries by incorporating unique flavors and unconventional techniques into the various dishes; think Sea Bream Carpaccio and Wok Tossed Rice Noodles, known as “Vietnamese gnocchi” by Indochine’s most loyal patrons (and one of Bazaar’s favourite dishes on the menu).
Other dishes to try on the menu we highly recommend trying includes the Beef Pho Rolls, Lamb Char Siu and Vietnamese Ravioli.
Indochine has also taken care to abide by all government social distancing rules and guidelines. Parties are seated well apart with at least one empty table in between groups, hand sanitizer is provided at all tables, and all staff are diligently wearing proper protective equipment.
For reservations please email [email protected] or call +971 4 208 9333. Harper’s Bazaar Arabia advises all of our readers to adhere to proper social distancing guidelines when dining and socializing outside the home.
