#ChicEats | Benjarong: Sampling The Flavours of Thailand In The Heart of Dubai

Located in Dusit Thani Dubai, the restaurant boasts authentic Thai cuisine amid a contemporary-chic setting, overlooking the glittering downtown skyline

Renowned Thai restaurant Benjarong, located on the 24th floor of Dusit Thani Dubai, overlooks picturesque views of Burj Khalifa and the wandering cityscape. This multi-award-winning culinary venue is the hotel’s signature Thai restaurant, with a global presence and locations in Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Cebu, Davao, Doha, Guam, Hua Hin, Maldives and Manila.

Derived from the Thai word for ‘five colours,’ Benjarong offers guests five captivating elements at every dining experience. Upon entry, your eye is immediately drawn to the colourful, contemporary, chic aesthetic. Vibrant hues of blue velvets to deep reds adorn the ceiling, accented by greens, golds and whites in the columns and architectural highlights; transforming the restaurant into a stylish space with rich heritage. The interior is an effortless fusion of European motifs and Thai elements, creating a sense of rustic luxury.

Large, handwoven lanterns hang above plush velvet sofas, creating an intimate ambience.  This is elegantly juxtaposed with a light installation with backlit, gold-leafed, circular lights paying homage to the full moon festivities of Thailand. The restaurant’s location admist the Dubai skyline is subtly accentuated by white frames, capturing the amazing view while creating a casual yet exciting atmosphere within the establishment.

The restaurant offers a mouthwatering selection of authentic Thai cuisine, guiding patrons on a true culinary journey. The menu is carefully crafted by Thai Chef de Cuisine Wichit Panyo and his team. Fresh, high-quality ingredients are used to prepare every dish, delivering a perfect blend of a sweet, spicy, salty, sour and creamy flavour. For social media aficionados, the restaurant has thoughtfully marked the top five most Insta-worthy dishes, using an icon on the menu.

While every dish is delicious, Chef Wichit recommends the Gai Burger Bai Kraprao Lae Khai Dao (grilled chicken burger topped with mushroom, holy basil sauce, Thai fried egg and steamed rice); Gaeng Kiew Wan (green curry with Thai eggplant, sweet basil leaves, and the choice of vegetables and tofu, chicken, beef, or prawns), and Phad Cha Pla Salmon (Stir-fried salmon fish with Thai round eggplant, zerumbet, green pepper, chili, and sweet basil leaves). For those with a sweet tooth, Khao Neaw Mamuang (sticky rice flavoured with pandanus and served with mango and coconut ice cream) is a must-try.

To complement the meal, try one of the various flavour-filled mocktails expertly prepared by the resident mixology maestro.
