Could This Be The Best Suhoor View in Dubai?

With warmer weather rolling in and Ramadan due to start in only a few days, the Address Beach Resort is gearing up to host a stellar nighttime event…

It’s sticky hot today, there’s not been a day like this in months but March in Dubai has always been unpredictable: foggy one day, perfect sunshine the next and then the odd temperature boost that makes you wonder if Summer has come early. Today feels almost like Summer – almost, it’s still nice enough to enjoy a pool day…which is lucky, as we’ve settled on loungers next to the stylish adult pool at the Address Beach Resort in JBR.

The sun has appeared like clockwork at 11am – just as the lovely lifeguard had predicted, and we have prime view of the waterfall feature to the right, the sea out in front and The Beach Grill restaurant, and Dubai Ain to the left – life could definitely be worse.

If you haven’t been to Address Beach Resort, expect all the five-star joy that comes with any of the Address hotels but merge that with a more contemporary design that must have spent an eye-watering amount of dirhams on art in the form of both canvases and sculpture, and like the nearby Dubai Ain – it’s artwork with a bigger is better attitude.

But through the grand lobby, down the gallery-style stairs and onto the pool area, things are more relaxed and life seems a little simpler. Don’t get me wrong, there’s still two stunning pools, beach access and a bar and restaurant with some of the best views in Dubai, but you feel more ‘holiday’ and less ‘art gallery’ down here.

After a morning spent swimming and sunbathing in what for the most part felt like a private pool, where fresh towels and cold water are constantly replenished, we headed to The Beach Grill for lunch. As you walk into the restaurant you notice how well it is at one with the outdoors, rattan style lamps reminiscent of the Dubai sand, azure furnishings that complement the sea and one whole side of the eatery opens up onto a terraced area that looks out at Bluewaters and Ain Dubai, and as the weather has cooled down we accept the offer to be seated outdoors. Lunch was a relaxed affair, The Beach Grill serves fresh, no nonsense food that covers everything from fish and chips to healthy salads piled high with vegetables and grains, we opted for the Tuna Nicoise salad and beef sliders for mains and delicious chocolate brownie with Dulche de leche ice cream to share for dessert – perfectly delicious.

We started talking to staff about Ramadan and they revealed that The Beach Grill will be home to Suhoor over the Holy Month. The place ticks every box when it comes to the ideal venue for the late night gathering; amazing views, perfect evening temperature and great food – had we just stumbled on Dubai’s most wonderful secret Suhoor?

They’re offering traditional beverages, soups, hot and cold mezze for starters, a variety of grills for mains including the oriental mixed grill platter with prime beef tenderloin, minced chicken kebabs, lamb chops, prawn and salmon, all accompanied by an array of sides for Dhs220 from 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM… book us in!
