Dalia Dogmoch’s SiNN-fully Delicious Comfort Meals Take Ordering In To The Next Level
Here, she shares her favourite dishes from her newest venture SiNN — which includes both ready-to-eat meals, that can be delivered directedly to your door, along with a pantry and dry good staples
The idea behind the concept was to create food that was homely, but to also do it in an elevated manner; I call it refined comfort food. The meaning of the word Sin or Sinn (pronounced ‘Zin’) in German, is the five senses. I came up with the name because, although I’m Syrian, my parents moved to Germany when they were very young; it’s actually my first language, so it made sense.
I was just testing my recipes when I caught Covid-19 and lost my sense of taste and smell. Initially, I had a different name for the brand but when that happened, I switched the name to SiNN. It’s a nice play on words. After all, food that’s really good is often described as sinful.
Zaatar Chimichurri Prawns
All the ingredients and toppings used within the line are very much what I cook with at home. These dishes all have a bit of an Arabic or Middle Eastern element or ingredients within them, which is very much my style when it comes to cooking. My favourite? It depends on what mood I’m in. If I’m feeling really indulgent, then I think pizza is my favourite – it’s called ‘D’s Favourite,’ and I’m also really enjoying our goat’s cheese, eggplant and walnut pizza as well. A must-try is the Chicken Tahini and, of course, the desserts too. From delicious salads and appetisers to a special kind of Arab pizza, main courses and scrumptious desserts, SiNN can satisfy just about any craving; and our modern pantry selection of chilli sauces and dressings can both complement your meal or act as a little helper in the kitchen.
Chilli Dibbs Jam
I added the pantry line because these are the items I like to have on hand when cooking at home; I love having flavoured oils, a nice chutney or jam to add to my cheeseboards. From peppery rubs, like our Bhar seasoning, to savoury jams, we have lots of exciting additions for your kitchen cupboard that are sure to add a punch of flavour to your home cooking. We also have cake mixes to make life in the kitchen easier; after all, everyone was getting into baking during lockdown this year. We figured, why not make it easy for everyone to enjoy?
We’re currently delivering to a few select areas within Dubai, and have plans to expand throughout the entire emirate – and beyond – very soon.
