It hasn’t left the top of the best restaurant lists since its Dubai launch in 2015, has added two wonderful sister eateries in the form of Ninive and Lana Lusa, and now, the French fine dining establishment that is La Cantine du Faubourg brings us the breathtaking TWIGGY.
It might be named after the 60s British fashion icon but the feel at the Park Hyatt location at Dubai Creek is very much stylish French Riviera. With al fresco, terraced-style dining overlooking the stunning white sand beach that leads directly into a 100-metre infinity pool – all surrounded by elegant loungers and private decked cabanas.
The decor is laidback Mediterranean meets Santorini blues and whites, with rattan furniture that says comfort and exclusivity in the same breadth. The food, as expected, is as delicious as it is fresh, we dined on deconstructed bruschetta, and maki from the sushi bar while poolside, and then went upstairs into the contemporary dining spot for melt-in-the mouth prawn gnocchi, delicate sea bass ceviche and scrumptious lobster cannelloni.
The changing rooms are as chic as the swinging chairs and arty light installations that await outside and the cavernous standalone bar that sits poolside offers a reminder of holidays spent on the Côte d’Azur. Everything about TWIGGY exudes vacation luxe… La Cantine have truly excelled themselves this time.
