Sultan Al Neyadi obtained his doctorate at the University of Griffith, Australia, before becoming an astronaut. His mission with NASA and Space X commenced in early March 2023, marking the longest journey an Arab astronaut has completed in Space, with his return currently set for early September 2023, according to the National.

Currently, the Arab astronaut has a 24-hour journey to complete, along with the rest of his crew. He broke several phenomenal records earlier this year when he became the first Arab astronaut to perform a spacewalk.

Sultan Al Neyadi is working alongside crew members: pilot Warren Hoburg, mission captain Steve Bowen, and Russian mission specialist Andrey Vidiev. It is clear their bond as a team strengthened over the journey as just yesterday, the Emirati astronaut took to his Instagram page to post a video with his crew captioning it, “We started the mission as colleagues and today we close it as brothers.” The crew shall first land in the US, where they shall undergo various medical checks as the UAE awaits to warmly welcome him back.

The commendable astronaut spent six months in space and celebrated many special occasions such as Ramadan and Eid away, but continued to post and wish everyone back on Earth via his Instagram page.

Sultan Al Neyadi has also shared photos with astronaut, Hazzaa Al Mansouri who was the first Emirati astronaut to go into space. Both astronauts making a significant impact in UAE history.
