Balqees Fathi Is Cooking Up A Storm In The Studio

Here’s everything you need to know about her new tune…

Emirati megastar Balqees Fathi is keeping fans on the edge of their seats after having teased a sample from her upcoming song last night.

Taking to social media to debut the what is believed to be the song’s intro, the Hollywood Music and Media Award Winner captioned her Twitter post “Coming soon???” and “يا جدعان اللي جاي ?????”— translating to ‘I am so excited for what’s to come.”

Balqees was caught alongside her “innovators,” Artist, Music Producer and Composer, Mohamad Yehyia and Egyptian Producer Hamdy Badr. Together, they enthusiastically yelled “Yalla!” to mark the start of the song’s reveal.

Keeping it comfortably casual in the studio, the Emirati-Yemeni popstar wore a pair of denim jeans and a pink floral top while dancing along to the song’s rhythm. The tune has proven a clear nod to the traditionalist notes and instruments used in Arabic music though is tinged with an upbeat, dancey electronic beat— one guaranteed to get you up-on-your-feet.

The singer also took to her Snapchat story to mention that it was a “working day” and that she was “recording music.”

Despite the song having no name and deliberately cutting off the lyrics of its start, the Sabra singer’s Instagram video has already amassed over 12,000 likes on Instagram in just under 12 hours. In a bid to contain their excitement, fans have left a barrage of comments across Balqees’ social media pages, posting a flurry of fire emojis and heart emoticons with one writing, “On fire can’t wait ?” and another begging, “How can I sleep noww!!!”

Having just returned from Riyadh’s Gamers8 concert last week, it’s clear that the star has a lot in store for us over the next couple of months— and we’re not complaining.

Only revealing so much, what remains certain is that Balqees has once again sent shockwaves throughout the region, keeping fans waiting for more to come.
