Love is Blind, Habibi: Netflix’s Hit Series is Coming To The Region

Bazaar Arabia shares everything we know about the new reality tv show

Rumours are the American dating show Love Is Blind might get a Middle Eastern version — and they’re true. The show is a social experiment, produced by Kinetic Content and created by Emmy-winner Chris Coelen. In the series, men and women are not only being coupled up but getting engaged before even meeting in person. The reasoning behind all this is to forego looks and focus on the personality of the individual.

In the beginning of the show, date-like meetings are being held, however, these are conducted with each being in a so-called pod, a small room with a couch and a glittering wall separating them from their opposite. After overcoming the talking stage, it is time for the candidates to pop the question and ask if the other wants to get married — still all whilst not ever having seen the partner in question. At one point the faces get revealed and drama is guaranteed to happen. Is the couple still willing to get married to one another?

The show is full of suspension, deep talks, and at one point peppered with superficialities causing drama, drama, drama.
