What was the Original Haj Metwali’s Family about?
For over two decades, the Haj Metwally Family series has captivated audiences, earning enduring popularity since its airing. It is a drama series that functions as a social commentary. With humour the series, centred on a married man juggling relationships with his four wives, explores that complexities of his interactions with each spouse, showcasing his transformation from a humble store employee to a prosperous businessman. Overcoming poverty.
The original cast featured; Nour El Sharif, Fadia Abdel Ghani, Magda Zaki, Ghada Abdel Razek, Rania Youssef, Sumaya El Khashab, and Mustafa Shaaban who was at the beginning of his career.
What is the story of the newest series?
The Children of Hajj Metwali is a continuation of the famous series Hajj Metwali‘s Family and a continuation of his story. The previous season featured the passing of the father, and the problems caused by the inheritance left to the children. This new series will take on explore a different dimension of grief and conflict. Continuing the series we have fallen in love with over 23 years.
Who will Star in the newest Series?
Just as the Children of Hajj Metwali has been given a new name, it will also have a new story and cast, Egyptian artists, and other Arab stars including; Wafa Amer, renowned actress Nermin El-Feki, Abeer Mounir, Edward, Nermin Mohsen, Samira Sedqi, Muhammad Abdel Jawad, Saudi artist Abdullah Al-Amiri, and several other notable individuals.
Written by Hussain Mustafa Muharram, who is the son of the original writer and director of Hajj Metwali‘s Family, Mustapha Muharram. Children of Hajj Metwali will be directed by Muhammad Abel Khaleq, and filming is scheduled to start filming over the coming weeks ahead of the Ramadan 2024 release date.
