It’s finally here! The Emmy nominated American reality television series that follows realtors is premiering its UAE franchise today on Starzplay. Starring Ben Bandari, Zay Brown, Nassira Sekkay, Rami Wahood and Riad Gohar, the cast of experienced realtors (with the exception of newcomer Zay) have officially become the first crop of Million Dollar Listing UAE agents – and they shared their excitement with Bazaar Arabia earlier this week at the Dubai premiere.
From the cast members’ dazzling outfits to the spectacular shows at The Fairmonts’ Theatre, they share exclusive insight into what it was like filming and how you can audition for Season Two of Million Dollar Listing UAE.
Harper’s Bazaar Arabia (HBA): How excited are you to be on Million Dollar Listing UAE?
Rami Wahood (RW): I didn’t expect this to happen at all!
Nassira Sekkay (NS): I cannot believe this is my reality right now!
Riad Gohar (RG): We are very excited, it’s out of this world. We have been working so hard for the past couple years and for Ben it’s been six, seven years to make this dream come true. So, we are very very excited and can’t wait to share it with the world.
HBA: Can you talk a little bit about the shortlisting process?
RW: It was like a rollercoaster. It was up and down, is it going to happen, is it not?
Ben Bandari (BB): 3000 people auditioned, then they cut it down to 300, then it went to 80 and then there was the top ten and thankfully we all made the final cut.
Zay Brown (ZB): There was a lot of stages, I never expected to even be shortlisted because I am nowhere near as established in the industry. (To which the cast were all quickly to defend her saying how great she has been) They wanted to find the right fit, the right dynamic. They put a lot of thought into the people they cast.
NS: For me, I was shortlisted last. I was chasing Ben and this is how I got here.
RG: You’ve got to get what you want right!
BB: Everyone brings something different, we’re a very diverse cast. I think we all complement each other as well even though we’re different in different ways.
RG: Because we’re all different we do get different opinions while we work together, and we do work together a lot, but we really have this harmony as well which you will see watching it.
BB: There’s synergy.
NS: We work in a competitive industry so it’s very normal we all have different opinions.
HBA: What can we expect to see in the first season of Million Dollar Listing UAE
ZB: High intensity, ups and downs. A raw side of real estate, it’s not all glamour and I think it’s important for people to see that side. People will see resilience, determination and the synergy.
NS: The culture of the UAE is very important to showcase.
BB: We have a guest star appearance from Josh Altman, who is superstar of Million Dollar Listing US…
NS: Super successful guy, like all of us!
How To Audition For Season Two of Million Dollar Listing UAE
For lucky hopefuls who were able to attend the premiere earlier this week, an interactive audition booth was set up so attendees could submit the applications in the form of a short video (prospective cast members were encouraged to include a witty catchphrase in their submission.)
