Based on George R.R. Martin’s novel, Fire & Blood, the series is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen.
As per a reveal by the creators of the show, audiences can expect to see more conflicts and strife within the Targaryen family as the show depicts the eventual downfall of their rule and their descent into civil war.
According to a press release, season 2 finds Westeros, a fictional continent in the show, “on the brink of a bloody civil war with the Green and Black Councils fighting for King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively.
