How To Watch Saudi Idol: The Hit TV Series Is Coming To KSA This Winter

The Kingdom‘s very own edition of the international reality talent search competition, Idol, will be coming to our screens shortly and we couldn’t be more excited about witnessing upcoming creatives from the country.
The show, titled Saudi Idol, is being launched by Saudi Arabia‘s General Entertainment Authority (GEA) in partnership with the MBC Group and will provide a platform of exposure to undiscovered powerhouses of local singing talent.

The panel of four judges, featuring prominent names from the Arab music industry such as Emirati singer and songstress Ahlam, Syrian musician Assala, Saudi singer Aseel Abu Bakr and Iraqi-Saudi singer and composer Majid Al Mohandis, has been tasked with scouting that talent from across the country.
Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the GEA, announced the news via Twitter, mentioning that the show will begin in December, 2022.
Although a momentous first for the Kingdom, Saudi Idol isn’t the first talent competition of it’s kind to air in the Middle East. Arab Idol, on which Ahlam was a judge for all the five seasons and sat alongside names like Nancy Ajram, Lebanon’s sweetheart and the ‘Queen of Arab Pop’, was one of the first spin-offs of the original Idol series to focus on the Arab world. It was wildly successful in giving the local music industry many talented stars.
