The newest Hunger Games movie Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is a prequel to the quartet that we all know and love.
First adapted from the best selling dystopian adventure trilogy book series by SSuzanne Collins staring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, and, for a brief moment, Lenny Kravitz. The Hunger Games depicted a society divided into factions, where an annual event forced participants to fight until only one victor remained in a gory pageant.
In 2020 the Author published the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which will be adapted into film for this exciting new project with Director Francis Lawrence, who directed three of the four moves in the original project.
What is The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes about?
The newest movie will explore the tenth games when an 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow, played by Tom Blyth, who later becomes the tyrannical leader of Panem and puppet Master of the Games, at the beginning of his career as a Mentor. A job that he takes in an effort to save his family, who had fallen from grace. Snow ends up as the Mentor of the District 12 Tributes, the story follows him and Lucy Gray Baird, played by Rachel Zegler, as he seeks to revolutionise the games, which are on their tenth year, and create a spectacle. Setting the tone for all games to come…
Zegler’s heroine is the antithesis of Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen, who was shy and introverted at the beginning of the movies, and who’s character is drawn out through the symbol of the Mockingjay. Lucy Gray Baird is a character who understands the need for showmanship during her Pannem campaign. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will feature characters that we love from the original books such as the fantastical Tigris, cousin of Snow, played by Hunter Schafer.
Who is in it?
With a start studded cast includes EGOT winner Viola Davis as the Game Master, Wes Anderson muse Jason Schwartzman as host, Euphoria Actress Hunter Schafer as Tigirs Snow, and Game of Thrones’s Peter Dinklage. Along side Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth as Lucy Gray Baird and Coriolanus Cryo Snow. The movie is already set to be a box office hit.
Who is featured on the soundtrack?
Olivia Rodrigo is set to feature on the Soundtrack, the Vampire singer will have a track titled Can’t Catch Me Now which she shared with fans in a clip on her instagram, adding her excitement for the project.
Leading lady Rachel Zegler will also feature on the soundtrack, the actress is a talented singer having received numerous accolades for her portrayal of Maria in Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of West Side Story (2021).
Best Fashion Moments: On-Screen and Off-Screen
Although released still from the movie show impressive costume, which was a focal point of the capital in the original quartet, perhaps the most impressive fashion was at the Berlin Premier. Rachel Zegler wore a black Alexander McQueen gown from the Fall-Winter 2022 collection, which bore a similarity to Katniss Everdeens Catching Fire gown in the second movie. An iconic moment from the original filmks, and a special one to recreate for the reprisal.
When is The New Hunger Games Coming Out in The UAE, KSA?
The movie is set to premier in the UAE and Saudi Arabia on November 16 — much to the delight of fans who have been eagerly awaiting this release since the final installment of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, which premiered in 2015.
