Is Dubai Bling Real? The Internet Reacts To Netflix’s New Reality Show…
Because everyone has an opinion about Netflix’s newest reality series…
Is Dubai Bling Real? Bazaar Arabia shares netizen’s thoughts on the semi-scripted new Netflix series
Whether you love it or hate it (or, simply, couldn’t be bothered about it) Dubai Bling has become the topic of water cooler conversation for both nationals and expats alike through the UAE. Starring Zeina Khoury, Lojain Omran, Kris Fade, Ebraheem Al Samadi, Farhana Bodi, Marwan Al-Awadhi (a.k.a. DJ Bliss), Danya Mohammed, Safa Siddiqui and Loujain Adadah the series appears to highlight just about every stereotype Dubai residents have been battling to debunk in recent years.
While many would argue the show is far from an accurate portrayal of the emirate’s population – let alone Emirati culture and heritage – expats and nationals alike are bracing themselves for one particular question friends and family abroad will surely be asking us in the coming weeks…
Is Dubai Bling Real?
While the series can be described as semi-scripted reality television at best (there are a few giveaways that lead us to believe the producers are hard at work to ensure drama ensues), separating fiction from fact might be a challenge for those lacking in the critical thinking department. The short answer is no, Dubai Bling is not an accurate portrayal of Dubai life.
Arguably, the best thing to come out of the series are people’s opinions about the cast, plot, and much more; here, Bazaar Arabia shares eight of the best memes, tweets, and Internet reactions to Dubai Bling.
The Comparison Culture is Going Strong…
No surprises here; we all knew Dubai Bling would be compared to the Real Housewives of Dubai...
Dubai Bling is THAT girl … RHOD is hella dramatic and super westernized but there’s so much culture and some sort of “depth” to Dubai Bling … I also really appreciate that they speak Arabic 90% of the time

Dubai Bling on Netflix is what the real housewives of Dubai should’ve looked like.
