The award-winning star’s latest project is an inspiring journey of love and lessons
Jennifer Lopez is getting candid. The pop sensation is returning to music after nearly a decade with the release of her ninth studio album This Is Me…Now.
As part of a three-part project, the album will be released in tandem with a short film, and will be a sequel to her massive hit album This Is Me…Then, inspired by her whirlwind romance with actor — and now husband — Ben Affleck, which was released in 2002.
Now, with over 20 years of growth and experience to share, the multi-hyphenate star is celebrating her happily-ever-after while taking us on an immersive journey through the trials and tribulations she’s overcome to achieve it.
The star had recently been in Dubai, celebrating the One&Only Za’abeel opening in a dazzling black Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown. The award-winning singer also rocked a Valentino number for the afterparty, performing the song Can’t Get Enough among other hits.

What is the Project?
In a press release, the project is described as “an intimate, fantastical and narrative-driven reflection of Lopez’s journey to find love.” It was written in part by Ben, and as per the film’s YouTube description, will be “an immersive world where music and visuals intertwine.” Audiences can expect to see “transformation and vulnerability in each frame”, as she navigates “self-healing” and “self-love.”
The 13-song track list also points to the nostalgic nature of the album, with song names including “Greatest Love Story Never Told”, “Mad Love”, and “Dear Ben Pt II,” presumably a sequel track to her earlier album’s “Dear Ben”.
Written and directed by Dave Meyers, who has worked with the likes of Ariana Grande, Janet Jackson, and Britney Spears, the musical film will also feature a range of cameos by a star-studded cast including Trevor Noah, Kim Petras, Sofia Vergara, and Jennifer’s Monster in Law co-star, Jane Fonda.

When Will it Be Released?
The album and accompanying short film will be released on Friday, February 16, just after Valentine’s Day.
Is There a Trailer?
Yes – a trailer for the project was released back in November, and features a montage of clips of Jennifer in her early years, a snippet of her dancing in her wedding dress with Ben, as well as a scene of her burning love letters in a fire – including one signed “B” and dated December 2002. In a voiceover on the trailer, Jennifer shares: “When I was a little girl, when someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always… in love.”
Will the Musical Film Be Available in the UAE?
This Is Me…Now will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Jennifer Lopez fans in the UAE will need an Amazon Prime or Prime Video membership to stream the new movie musical.
