Johnny Depp in Saudi Arabia: The Actor Was Spotted in AlUla

He was photographed with Bader bin Farhan Alsaud, the Minister of Culture & Governor of the Royal Commission for AlUla, this weekend

Johnny Depp in Saudi Arabia: Bazaar Arabia shares everything we know about the actor’s recent trip to KSA.

A familiar face has been spotted around KSA lately…

Bader bin Farhan Alsaud, Minister of Culture & Governor of the Royal Commission for AlUla, shared an Instagram post of himself with Johnny Depp yesterday – presumably shot in the ancient Arabic city.

“Good times,” he captioned the photo, tagging #AlUla.

This picture was posted days after it was announced that the Red Seal International Film Festival would be supporting the upcoming period drama, Jeanne Du Barry. The award-winning American actor plays King Louis XV opposite French director and actress, Maïwenn.

The film, which is shot in France and has been acquired by Netflix, chronicles the life of the King’s mistress and her rise throughout the ranks of the French court; it’s directed and co-written by Maïwenn, who joined forces with Teddy Lussi-Modeste and Nicolas Livecchi to bring the true story to life on the silverscreen.

“We are thrilled to be supporting Maïwenn’s upcoming feature Jeanne du Barry. This is a film that immediately interested us, it’s an incredibly unique and ambitious biographical feature and a testament to our commitment to supporting new talent and collaborating with world-class writers, directors and producers,” said Mohammed Al Turki; CEO of the Red Sea IFF.

“We hope this collaboration will strengthen the ties between Saudi and French cinema and the first of many international films that we can support that advocate for women filmmakers.”
