The Red Sea International Film Festival 2024 marks the fourth edition of the highly anticipated award ceremony recognising Arab talent and creativity from the region and beyond. Stars from around the world will descend upon Jeddah in December to partake in the prestigious event for movie lovers, directors, and actors.
This year’s event is set to take place from December 5 to 14, 2024, with an exciting lineup of masterclasses from experts, intriguing showcases, and a glamorous awards night gala.
The Red Sea International Film Festival 2024 recently revealed Al-Balad, a historic district in Jeddah, as its new location. Over the ten-day festival, the UNESCO World Heritage Site will be transformed to host the glitz and glamour of the ceremony, reflecting the KSA’s innovative blend of heritage and modernity.
Since its launch in 2021, the Red Sea International Film Festival has become one of the biggest film events in the region, gaining worldwide acclaim and showcasing the innovation, diversity, and creativity that the KSA has to offer. This upcoming edition will spotlight global talent and is a vibrant lineup of diverse voices, with over 120 films from 81 countries being showcased at the event.
‘The New Home of Film’ has been unveiled as this year’s theme, as an ode to the historic venue that will welcome directors and superstars from around the world.

Mona Zaki and Viola Davis Unveiled As Honourees
Egyptian actress Mona Zaki is set to be honoured at the opening ceremony, celebrating her renowned legacy in the industry within the region and beyond. The former Harper’s Bazaar Arabia cover star boasts an acclaimed career that made a mark in Arab cinema. Her recent film Flight 404 made waves both internationally and within the MENA region.
Additionally, Academy Award-winning actress Viola Davis is set to attend and be honoured for her extraordinary talent in television and film, with a notable career worldwide that broke boundaries in Hollywood. Her exceptional work in the hit series How To Get Away With Murder, The Help, and other acclaimed projects gained her global recognition.
The two superstars will be sharing their expertise from years in the industry during the In Conversation Series taking place at the festival.
