After addressing Gerard Piqué‘s adultery in a scathing diss track, Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53, Shakira is looking at another empowering anthem, this time with fellow Columbian singer-songwriter Karol G.
In the autobiographical song, Shakira expressed her feelings about being betrayed by her ex who left her for his new girlfriend Clara Chia. Between the catchy beats of the Bizarrap collab, she mentions how the soccer player left her during all her life’s troubles, so now she’s making music about it and making peace with it.
Who is Karol G?
For those who haven’t listened to enough Latin music, Karol G is an accomplished Latin trap and reggaeton musician who shot to stardom after her collaboration with Bad Bunny on Ahora Me Llama and subsequently won the Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
Starting her career at the age of fourteen, the Billboard Latin Music Award nominee participated in the Columbian version of The X Factor and has since then come a long way, collaborating with numerous Latin artists including J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, Maluma, and even American singer Becky G.
Rumours of collaboration surrounding Karol’s latest album Mañana Será Bonito also include the Grammy-winning singer Kim Petras and Brazilian hitmaker Anitta.
When is Shakira releasing new music?
The musicians met up to record a killer single to help the Queen of Latin Music get over her recent heartbreak, as reported by Hola. Based on the captivating image shared by the artists on Instagram, we know that the song is titled TQG and will be released on February 24. The caption also pays homage to the birthplaces of the two Columbian songstresses – Barranquilla and Medellín.

According to Marca, a Telemundo segment titled Hoy Dia released a snippet from the exciting collaboration which is said to be a scornful message to Shakira and Karol’s exes – Gerard Piqué and Anuel AA.
