The ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Trailer Is Here, And Chris Pine’s Never Looked Better
Watch your favorite superhero take on the ’80s
Great news for anyone not-so-patiently waiting for the Wonder Woman sequel. The very first trailer for Wonder Woman 1984, the follow-up to 2017’s Gal Gadot-starring superhero movie, has finally arrived, and yes, it’s totally awesome.
Having teased the trailer’s arrival on Twitter, Gadot and the movie’s director, Patty Jenkins, helped to premiere their new film at Brazil’s CCXP. In an interview before the trailer was launched, Jenkins described the sequel as seeing Wonder Woman “unleashed on the modern world.” The director also explained that, as the movie is set in the ’80s, they were inspired to create stunts and special effects akin to the classic action movies of that decade.

The movie completed filming about a year ago, and Gadot celebrated the forthcoming superhero sequel on Instagram. She wrote, “We shot in 4 very different locations in 3 countries, and I’m so soooo proud of the almost 1000 crew members who came to set every day, giving everything they have into our movie.”
Gadot continued, “I’m so lucky to have the one and only Patty Jenkins, as my director. She always has our backs, she gives us the wings to dare, and everyday she helped us find the most creative version of ourselves .. I am so grateful to call her my friend. And to our AMAZINGly talented cast who made every day enjoyable and fun, thank you!”
Meanwhile, the inimitable Kristen Wiig will play Wonder Woman’s nemesis Barbara Minerva, also known as Cheetah. We literally cannot wait.
