Heeramandi: Everything You Need To Know About The Series

Heeramandi is not merely a series, but an opulent display of love, power, and freedom, set against the backdrop of India’s struggle in the 1940s. The story unfolds in the beautiful district of Heeramandi and explores the lives of tawaifs (courtesans), in Lahore before the colonisation of India.

The Largest Ever Sanjay Leela Bhansali Set

Perhaps the most striking aspect of Heeramandi is its breathtaking production design. The director is known for his blockbuster films Devdas, Bajirao Mastani, and Gangubai Kathiwadi has spared no expense in bringing the series’ world to life.

The series boasts Bhansali’s “biggest set ever,” spanning a staggering three acres and requiring the craftsmanship of over 700 artisans over seven months. 

A Cast Filled with Bollywood Icons

The cast of Heeramandi reads like a who’s who of Bollywood’s finest, including stars such as Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal.
