The US Open 2024 is in full swing as tennis fans from around the world tune in to watch the tournament. New York City is welcoming athletes from around the world from the end of August through to September 8, 2024 to compete in both singles and doubles divisions.

Unfortunately, Tunisian tennis player Ons Jabeur has withdrawn from the US Open 2024. Ons shared a heartfelt message on her social media, expressing her sadness about missing the competition due to her recovering from injuries.

“I am truly sad to announce that my shoulder won’t recover in time for the US Open. I feel I need to give 100 % and today it’ s not possible yet Life has ups and downs, but sometimes in the very negative moments we all need to find the positive in it. This year has been very tough for me, but I know somewhere the light is there,” she wrote in a caption on Instagram, explaining why she’ll be absent from the tournament. “I keep smiling like I always do because I am grateful for my life, my family, my sponsors and the fans that have always supported me. Always grateful for the unconditional support YOU all bring to me.”
She has previously made history in the US Open by becoming the first Arab player to reach a grand slam final at the US Open 2022.
