After a thrilling finale that devastated and enraptured viewers alike, there is one question on everyone’s mind. When will season two of The Last of Us premiere? The apocalyptic drama starring Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Anna Torv, Nico Parker, and other *surprising cameos* just set up an exciting return with its climactic season finale.
The series revolves around the protagonists’ (Pedro‘s Joel and Bella’s Ellie) journey across a dystopic civilization infected with a deadly disease, resulting in the birth of thousands of mutated species known as the Infected.
As the surviving duo leave behind a world of destruction in the highly-anticipated final episode Look for the Light, fans of the video game adaptation are curious to know when the second season will premiere.
When Will The Last Of Us Season Two Release
Shortly after the premiere of season one in January this year, The Last of Us was renewed for another season by HBO. The critically acclaimed drama was named the best adaptation of a video game by fans and critics alike which paves the way for a much-awaited season two.
The Last of Us Part II, the sequel to the original Naughty Dog adventure game, was used as a reference point for the creators Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin when they first wrote the characters for season one.
For the second season, the production established a writers’ room in Los Angeles in February, as reported by GQ. That being said, HBO has not yet disclosed a release date for the second season of The Last of Us which will bring back lead actors Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, according to IGN.
As reported by Collider, Pedro revealed that the survival series will begin filming season two before the end of 2023. Based on the production of the first season which took 18 months to hit our screens, we can expect season two of The Last of Us to premiere by the end of 2024 or early 2025.
